A Quick Update From Full Scope Creative
You might have noticed that July was quieter than usual for this blog. That was intentional.
In fact, July was our slowest blogging month in quite a while. There was a good reason for that. I chose to spend that time getting ready for one of the best moments of my life.
On July 25, 2026, my wife Alicia and I welcomed our first child.. As I write this, both mom and baby boy Theron Elijah Robinson are doing great.
July was less about publishing blogs and more about doctor appointments, getting the house ready, completing the nursery, and spending time together before life changed in the best way.
I look forward to teaching Theron about faith. Showing him what a strong work ethic looks like. Who knows, maybe teaching him how to be a web designer.
For now, the top goal is enjoying as many snuggles with him as I can. My dad always says, “It’s his world and I’m just living in it.” One week in and I understand what he means.
Becoming a dad has changed the way I think about time. Every hour and activity matters more. I want to work smarter, and harder. As I create better systems and become more efficient, that means I can spend more time with my family while still creating better websites, better marketing, and better solutions for our clients.
There have been late nights and a lot less sleep. There have also been a lot of baby snuggles. And yes, I have changed many, many diapers.
Preparing Full Scope Creative For Paternity Leave
Before heading out for paternity leave, I had two big goals I wanted to focus on in July. I started planning weeks before my leave.
First, we have a large website project launching in August. I wanted to make sure our systems allowed that project to continue moving even while I was away.
The second goal was to make sure that our clients received the same level of care. Chris, our lead programmer, and Christa, our lead designer, stepped up in a big way. We planned ahead and shared responsibilities. Chris monitored my email and made sure all questions and support requests were answered.
I can’t thank Chris and Christa enough for everything they did. Whether I was at the hospital or home with Theron, our clients always had someone available to help.
Seeing my team step up reminded me of something I’ve valued: A small business should be built around good systems, not just one person. That is something we will continue working toward at Full Scope Creative.
Why I Didn’t Just Let AI Write Everything
We use AI every day at Full Scope Creative. It is a great tool for organizing ideas, filling in gaps, and helping us work through topics from different angles. I believe AI has helped make our blog stronger.
AI should be a tool, not an author. I wasn’t willing to simply fill July with articles that I wasn’t involved in. Every blog needs experience, editing, real examples, and a human voice.
I’d rather publish fewer articles (three in July) that I’m proud of than 10-15 articles that don’t sound like me.
Where I Want To Take The Blog Next
The time away from writing gave me some new ideas about what I want this blog to be. I want to improve how articles are organized, include stronger internal linking, and make it easier to find related content.
I also want to continue writing blogs that answer the questions our clients ask every week. Topics like SSL certificates, Microsoft 365 versus Google Workspace, DNS propagation, website security, and domain names all deserve simple answers that people can bookmark and share.
I’m also going to include a TL;DR summaries. Small business owners are busy. A short summary at the start of an article can help them choose to read the whole article or just the TL;DR section.
Of course, SEO will continue to be part of the plan. More FAQs, stronger internal links, more educational resources, and future case studies are all on my list.
Why I Spend So Much Time Writing These Blogs
One of my favorite parts of owning Full Scope Creative is teaching. A top goal has always been to help small businesses understand websites, SEO, hosting, domains, email, and marketing.
If someone reads an article on our blog and has better understanding than before, I consider that a success. Many of these articles help people for years after they’re published. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy writing them so much.
Where It All Goes From Here
My paternity leave is halfway over. I’m excited to get back into a regular schedule of writing, meeting with clients, working on amazing projects, and helping businesses build success through creative solutions.
You’ve probably heard me mention Rule #1: Faith. Family. Full Scope Creative. July gave me the opportunity to live that out, and I’m grateful for it.
Thank you to our clients, team members, and partners for your patience. Your support means more than you know.
If there’s a website, SEO, hosting, email, or marketing question you’ve always wanted answered, let me know. There’s a good chance it will become one of our future blog posts.
