What Are the Latest PHP Security Vulnerabilities?

On October 21, 2026, news broke about some major PHP security vulnerabilities that could put millions of websites at risk. These issues were serious enough that even the National Security Agency (NSA) issued a warning about them.

At Full Scope Creative, we were already aware of these issues and working on protecting our website hosting clients before most of the news stories were published.

That’s one of the benefits of having a website hosting company that manages these things for you. We stay on top of the security issues so you don’t have to.

What Happened With PHP?

PHP is a programming language that helps run millions of websites, including websites built with WordPress.

Most business owners don’t know what version of PHP their website uses. And that’s fine. It’s not something they should have to worry about when they’re busy running their business.

But PHP needs to be updated just like WordPress, plugins, and other software.

The latest security issues could allow hackers to get into websites and servers that were running affected versions of PHP. The issues were serious enough that security experts were telling website owners to update PHP right away.

You can read more about the issues in the official PHP security announcement.

Let Us Handle Your Website Hosting and Security

Keeping your website secure takes more than just installing WordPress updates. At Full Scope Creative, we manage our hosting servers, monitor security issues, and handle updates so you don’t have to worry about them. Let us take care of your website hosting so you can spend more time running your business.

What Did Full Scope Creative Do About the PHP Security Issues?

We were aware of the security issues before they became major news stories. We had already started taking steps to help protect the websites we host.

On October 22, we completed upgrading all our hosting accounts to the latest stable, security-patched version of PHP. We also removed older versions from our servers so those outdated versions couldn’t continue being used.

And our clients didn’t have to do anything.

No logging into their website. No trying to figure out how to update PHP. No calls to support asking what they needed to do.

We handled it for them.

We’re Also Making Other Server Upgrades

The PHP updates aren’t the only work we’re doing on our hosting servers this week.

We’re also making some major server upgrades that are separate from the PHP security issues. These improvements are part of our ongoing work to keep our hosting secure, reliable, and up to date.

For some clients, we’re working with them directly to get access to their domain names so we can complete those updates.

These upgrades were not caused by the PHP issues. They’re another part of the work we do to maintain our hosting services.

Why Managed Website Hosting Matters

There are a lot of website hosting companies out there. Some give you a place to put your website and leave the rest up to you.

That’s not how we handle hosting at Full Scope Creative.

We manage our servers, watch for security issues, install updates, review alerts, and work to keep our clients’ websites protected.

Security issues will always come up. That’s just part of having a website. What matters is how quickly those issues are found and fixed.

Our clients shouldn’t have to read a news story about a security problem and then spend their afternoon trying to figure out if their website is at risk.

That’s our job.
